Reflexology

Reflexology, a method of touch therapy, has been practiced in many cultures for centuries. It is a universally acclaimed healing art and science. Reflexology is founded on the principle that there are reflex points in the feet, hands, and ears corresponding to nerve pathways of the nervous system, and/or meridians to every part of the body. Reflexology aids in the reduction of stress, and helps the nervous system to relax. Through systematic pressure and stimulation of these reflexes, the body is assisted to return to its natural functioning process and its equilibrium. For either preventative care, or in response to physical or emotional distress, a reflexology session acts as a technique to aid the body towards its own, natural healing process. Reflexology is a compliment to standard medical care. Please use it wisely as it should not be a replacement to medical help.

Benefits of Reflexology

• Reduces pain
• Improves blood flow
• Aids post-operative recovery
• Impact on physiological measures (blood pressure, cholesterol)
• Enhances medical care (phantom limb pain sufferers, neuropathy patients)
• Benefits mental health
• Complements cancer care (helps relieve pain, nausea, vomiting)
• Eases pregnancy, delivery and post-partum effects
• Improves clarity of the mind
• Regulates the body’s natural functions
• Improves sleeping patterns

This kind of massage uses many of the same techniques as Swedish massage, but is a more focused type of massage as the therapist’s centre of attention is on the deeper tissue structures of the muscles and the connective tissue. The pressure used will be generally more intense and aimed at releasing chronic muscle tension and knots. After a deep tissue massage, it is possible to feel some soreness, but this should pass in a day or two. That is usually an indication that a lot of waste products were flushed out of the tissues. Carrying a baby inside you changes your center of gravity, changes your posture, and puts a lot of stress on the lower back, shoulders, neck and abs.

The Reconnection ®

Originally the meridian lines, sometimes called acupuncture lines on our bodies were connected to the grid lines that encircle the planet. These grid lines were designed to continue out and connect us to a vastly larger grid, tying us into the entire Universe. Over time we become disconnected from these lines.

The Reconnection brings in “new” axiatonal lines that enables us to standardize unique vibratory levels and frequencies for healing and ultimately, for our evolution. These axiatonal lines are part of a timeless network of intelligence, a parallel-dimensional circulatory system that draws the basic energy for the renewal functions of the human body.

The Reconnection brings in and activates these new lines allowing for the exchange of energy, light and information, the Reconnection of DNA strands a re-integration of ‘strings’ (simultaneously occurring - of parallel - planes of existence).

Please note: While not required, it is suggested that you experience one to three Reconnective Healing sessions prior to your Reconnection. Consult with your Reconnective Healing Practitioner for more information.

To complete one Reconnection session, the client has to come twice. The Reconnection is done in no more than two sleep cycles apart. Ex. Monday and Wednesday.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is the science of health, awareness, and self-realization. Ayurveda’s documented beginnings reach 5,000 years into the past. At the core of Ayurveda is the understanding that health is established and preserved through balance and counterbalance. Its wisdom believes in a progressive approach to total wellbeing, and that adjustments to one’s lifestyle create holistic balance. Disease begins with an imbalance or stress in the individuals consciousness, emphasizing mind-body-spirit integration that seeks to treat the person as a whole. Self nurturing through diet, meditation, yoga, sleep, and breathing, is the most natural thing any person can do in order to enhance health, and in some cases help prevent future health problems and complications. Each individual is unique so harmony must be brought forth from within.

A typical Ayurvedic consultation will begin with a pulse diagnosis that often reveals your constitution. The practitioner will analyze the tongue, nails, skin and eyes. From this, a person’s fundamental nature, or “Prakriti”, is established. This Prakriti is the sum of unique physiological and mental characteristics that define an individual, and is composed of the three gunas: Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas.

The understanding behind Ayurveda is that we are all part of the same universe, made up of the same stuff, yet the unique proportion of elements to one another, unique body structure, and mental attitude and awareness, ultimately is what defines any given individual.
Ayurvedic treatments are customized according to one’s individual body type, known as “Dosha”. There are three main doshas, which characterize most people, they are Vata (space and air), Pitta (fire and water), and Kapha (water and earth). These 3 doshas make up the rudiments of Ayurveda. Most people are a combination of all three doshas with either one or two doshas predominating.

By understanding a person’s nature or disposition, one can better understand how to offset its extremes. When harmony is brought to the various channels, centres, and doshas, the human organism performs well. By obeying your own constitution, the most suitable lifestyle for you develops with ease. There are many lifestyles and the key is to find the right one for you. Once in the flow of well being, Ayurveda becomes simply preventative maintenance.

If there is a lack of well being, the role of Ayurveda is to restore the natural rhythms of the mind and body through various methods. These include herbal preparations, nutritious foods, yoga, massage, meditation, mantras, medicated oils, and daily self care rituals. Ayurveda is not limited to any one method since illness can occur on multiple levels, and must be balanced accordingly.
